I am happy to welcome you on my website and hope you will find everything you are looking for. If not, do not hesistate to contact me.
Hello there, I am Elias Ankerhold. After being born and spending the first part of my childhood in
Freiburg im Breisgau, my family moved to Ulm, where I finished high school and did a voluntary social
year. For my studies in Physics, I moved to Berlin in 2018. My exchange studies led me to Helsinki,
where I am living since 2021.
I am always interested in the latest topics of politics, economy as well as society and am therefore
actively following their development. From time to time, I am happy to relax while playing the cello or
listening to different varieties of music. While during winter time, I use to ice skate a lot, badminton
proves to be a great indoor alternative. I have recently picked up an interest in film photography and
like to experiment with different settings.

My passion for getting engaged already developed during high school, where I was an active member of the debating team for six years. After organising a school wide state simulation project, I was elected student representative and member of the school commitee. Next to that, I enjoyed the challenge of being a football referee for several years.
My native language is German, which I am able to use in an elaborate way. Because of my bilingual education and extended stay in the US, speaking, reading and writing in English is also very natural to me. I am also able to communicate on a B1 (CEFR) level in French. Currently, I am learning the Finnish language and its fascinating yet complex grammar, of which I have basic knowledge (A1).
I have basic knowledge of AdobeInDesign, AdobePhotoshop and am very confident with Microsoft Office. Additionally, I have some experience with scientific tools such as Mathematica, Matlab and Origin as well as more advanced skills in using LaTeX. Python is my main coding language in which I am very proficient, but I have also accumulated basic skills in Java and Fortran.
Because of my involvement during high school, I was awarded the Siemens Award for Social Commitment and accepted to the Deutsche Schülerakademie in 2016. My excellent Abitur grades were recognized by the Scheffel Award and the Social Studies Award of the City of Ulm. At the beginning of my studies, I was granted a scholarship of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes.
